  1. Zombie Toxin Haunted House & Halloween Town

October 1, 7:30 PM - October 31, 11:30 PM @ Zombie Toxin Haunted House 417 N. Franklin St. Junction City, KS

Weekends in October come to the scariest haunted house in Kansas! A frightening experience you won't want to miss... This haunted house contains claustrophobic passages, sudden scares, loud noises, air blasts, scenes of gore and violence, strobe lights, fog and mist, stairs and uneven floors, extended periods of total darkness, severe and heart-pounding psychological terror and is just ridiculously creepy! Not recommended for children under the age of 10, and those under 13 should be escorted by an adult. Younger children can enjoy our "Halloween Town" attraction with carnival games, trick or treating, outdoor maze, costume contest and more! Enter at your own risk!

  2. Love Canon In Concert

    October 21, 7:30 PM @ C.L. Hoover Opera House 135 W. 7th St. Junction City, KS

Love Canon doesn't cover the music of the '80s as much as kidnap it and take it on a bluegrass-tinged joyride. There's no shortage of clever musical re-enactors giving the first generation of MTV an ironic makeover: a fool's errand, given that the music already was soaked in postmodern irony. By contrast, Love Canon refreshes and extends the originals with affectionate humor and effortless virtuosity. The players add layers of depth to the still-appealing pop hooks. They romp on throwaway classics such as ZZ Top's "Legs" and "She Blinded Me With Science." On their excellent version of "The Boys of Summer," the folk instrumentation adds a traditional context to the time-capsule lyrics. After blazing through other up-tempo material, they shift to a slow burn on the closing "Girls Just Want to Have Fun." It's an unlikely choice for an all-male band, but they strip the song down to its bittersweet, feminist heart."

  3. K-State vs Texas

October 25, 11:00 AM @ Bill Snyder Family Stadium 2201 Kimball Ave Manhattan, KS

  4. Shaun Hopper In Concert

    October 26, 2:00 PM @ C.L. Hoover Opera House 135 W. 7th St. Junction City, KS

Acoustic 'fingerstyle" guitar player/wizard Shaun Hopper is at first glance an unassuming presence, a true southern gentleman whose humility stands in sharp contrast to the prodigious talents he unveils on stage. Merging complex melodic lines, harmony and bass lines along with a one-of-a-kind percussive technique, he mesmerizes everyone within earshot. Shaun's stagecraft is equally impressive. Weaving in humorous tales from his small town Georgia roots along with an occasional glimpse into his "backwoods" upbringing, he stirs his audience with both humor and introspection. Moving thematically through his repertoire, Shaun takes his audience on a global tour from Celtic Imagery and Classical Medley to Soulful Ballads and Jazzy Improvs, all of which he counters with a cliff hanging Nashville "hot licks session", neck-popping original or '70s pop song.
